JOHNSON Joe Murray, of Midwest City, died June 3, 2009. Born on 2-1-1931 in Marietta, OK to Clayburn el and Gladys Darnell Gockel in Tulsa, OK. Tad attended Nichols Hills Elementary, Harding High School and Heritage Hall High School where he was part of the first graduating Class of 1971. He graduated from Oklahoma State University in May 1976, where he obtained his degree in accounting. In 1983, Tad met and married the loves of his life, Denny and her children, Shawna and Bryant.

To this wonderful union was added Chelsea Gockel in 1985. Tad was an independent petroleum landman for over 30 years, and enjoyed working in many courthouses as he traveled throughout Oklahoma. He was proud that he had worked in every courthouse in all 77 Oklahoma counties. For many years, Tad was a partner in G.H. Land Company until he "retired" and then became President of Glasgow Resources, Inc.

and Brookline Minerals, LLC and was a partner in The Chimney Shop of Bethany with his son Bryant. He was an active outdoorsman and hunter, especially at his "deer" ranch in Cole County. However, he cared more for the camaraderie than the hunt. Not only did he love time spent at the farm but also enjoyed time with his family at his cabin in Buck-horn at Lake Tenkiller. Through Tad's life he had a passion for baseball, including coaching softball, and watching his favorite team, the Chicago Cubs.

Other than his family, Tad's biggest enjoyment came from anything and everything OSU, proudly contributing to his alma mater as a donor and Posse club member. He is member of the Oklahoma City Association of Professional Landmen and American Association of Professional Landmen. He was President of the Barrington Homeowners Association, and active in the Buckhorn Addition Homeowners Association at Lake Tenkiller. He was a charter member of the Friday Lunch Club. He was a proud member of the NRA.

Tad was a staunch conservative and supporter of Constitutional and States' rights and vehemently opposed to creeping socialism. He was survived by his wife Denny and children; daughter Chelsea Gockel, son Bryant Davis, and his son Grant, Shawna Molina and her husband Joe and their children Maggie and Ashton. He is also survived by his sister Dencie Thomson, her husband Cam, and their four children, Court, Cody, Blakely, and Ashford, and many other family members and friends and last but not least, his faithful friend Thibodeaux. He was predeceased by his parents. He loved his family unconditionally, was never judgmental, and was always forgiving.

His intelligence, wit, opinions, advice, and humor will be genuinely missed. "You are not here my friend, but you are not gone, you will live on in our hearts until we meet again."
